Jun Hayashi, PhD | Co-Founder and VP of Research & Development
Dr. Hayashi is Vice President of Research and Development of A&G Pharmaceutical. An immunologist with particular expertise in the field of T cell signaling, Dr. Hayashi is the inventor of A&G’s proprietary technology that identifies tumor-derived cell-surface proteins as the basis for discovering and developing these cancer-specific biomarkers into therapeutic and companion diagnostic products. In addition, he has developed a selective culture system for bone marrow lymphoid progenitor cells and several functional thymic epithelial cell lines that are in use by researchers worldwide, and he cloned a novel adaptor molecule, Lnk, that is expressed preferentially by lymphoid cells. Prior to joining A&G, Dr. Hayashi was an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and adjunct faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Before that, he was a Senior Scientist at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center in Lake Placid. Dr. Hayashi is the inventor on two U.S. patents. He received a BS from Tokyo Metropolitan University and a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Connecticut.
